About the Gun Violence Prevention Action Committee

We are a movement of survivors, advocates, policy experts, faith leaders, and youth committed to protecting our children, families, and communities from gun violence.

Our Mission

Illinois families deserve to live and thrive without fear of gun violence.

The Gun Violence Prevention Action Committee (GVPAction) advocates for common sense, evidence-based, gun violence prevention measures that will save lives in Illinois.

The Committee pursues this mission by:

Encouraging grassroots activism

through community outreach and legislative action.

Sharing information and resources

to understand the realities of everyday gun violence and what work can be done to stop it.

Fostering collaboration and connections

among advocates who are working to reduce all types of violence.

Working in partnership

with faith and community groups, families and survivors, law enforcement, and elected officials.

The Gun Violence Prevention Political Action Committee (G-PAC)

G-PAC was founded by gun violence survivors to counter the political influence of the gun industry and their lobby in Springfield.
