G-PAC APPLAUDS SCOTUS DECISION DECLINING CHALLENGE TO ILLINOIS LAW BANNING LOADED WEAPONS ON MASS TRANSIT
CHICAGO – The Gun Violence Prevention PAC of Illinois (G-PAC), the state’s leading gun violence prevention organization, issued a statement today on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to leave in place Illinois’ ban on carrying concealed, loaded weapons on mass transit in the state.
“The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision is a victory for public safety and an important measure of progress in our shared commitment to reducing gun violence in communities across Illinois,” said Kathleen Sances, President and CEO of G-PAC. “The decision shows Illinois is once again leading the country in creating common sense laws that stand up in court and save lives.”
